Paintings from Keep The Dog On The Leash

Here are a few pieces from the recent exhibition I had with Colm MacAthlaoich & Conor Wickham in Eight Gallery, Dublin. The opening night went really well and I even sold a few pieces, happy days. Click the link to my Flickr page to see the rest of the work: FLICKR

Granby Park Wall

I recently did this piece in Granby Park - a pop-up park made possible by volunteers, locals, community groups and DCC. The character is a kind of Park Ranger/Spiritual Guide & Protector of all animal and plant life in the park. He also gets around on the back of an urban fox!
"Upstart are transforming a vacant Dublin site on Dominick street lower into Granby Park , a place of creativity, nature, imagination, play and beauty for everyone. For four weeks, there will be free arts events, outdoor cinema & theatre performances, live music, educational activities and a pop-up café open to the public." http://upstart.ie/ https://www.facebook.com/UpStartpromotingtheimportanceofcreativityinIreland

15 Love - A submission for a competition

This is a design I did a while back for a competition launched by Cogo House. The winner would have their artwork chosen by Toby Gale, a London beatmaker, for his upcoming EP. A video had been made previously for one of the tracks and the only clues that were given were: womens tennis, video game, futuristic, shiny things! Unfortunately, I didn't win, but it was fun making the piece nonetheless. Head over to the Cogo House facebook page to see the other entries and winning artwork. https://www.facebook.com/COGOHouse?fref=ts

Mannequin Man

I started doodling on this mannequin recently for no reason at all and kept going until I covered the entire thing. Not bad ey? Head over to my Facebook to view the rest of the photos and like the page if you haven't done so already. Cheers https://www.facebook.com/JamesMakeArt

News

Just a brief update on what's in the pipelines - I have been working on a range of different things recently and looks like some of them will see the light of day pretty soon. Things such as - an album cover for an Irish group, T-shirts, screen prints, skateboard design and more digital work. I've also just found a studio space for myself - time to get back into doing some paintings! I'm also really looking forward to doing some more spray-painting as the good weather begins to kick in (....any day now) In the meantime.... here's a detail of something I made a while back which will hopefully be released soon.

Artwork for DJ Izem EP2

A few months back I met with Jérémie Moussaid Kerouanton, aka DJ Izem to discuss doing some artwork for an EP he was working on. We continued exchanging ideas via email and the end result is the one you see above and one we were both happy with. His music is already getting a nice bit of radio play worldwide and he himself also broadcasts similar global beats on his weekly radio slot on Groovalizacion.com

Here's what he has to say: "Some really nice feedback so far - Songs were premiered on XLR8R, MTV Iggy, Nialler9, Hotpress Funkhaus Europa (Germany), KCRW (Los Angeles), RTE 2FM and Pulse (Ireland), Oxigenio (Portugal), SOAS radio, BLN.FM, Brooklyn Radio, Laidback, Groovalizacion..."

Click on the link and head over to his bandcamp to stream or download the ep for free! http://djizem.bandcamp.com/album/ep-2

Totes Rejected

Here's an illustration I did a while ago for an American Apparel competition, the winners got their work printed on tees and bags etc. This one was specifically for Tote bags, front & back - it's a reference to a line in a film, it's got a nice goat on it and I thought it might appeal to people who might buy American Apparel stuff.
